IPDPS 2025 Travel Page

This page has information to help plan your travel to attend IPDPS 2025. All travel arrangements are the responsibility of attendees, including determining what visa requirements - if any - apply to you. See below.

IPDPS 2025 Location: Milan, Italy

Milan, a metropolis in Italy's northern Lombardy region, is a global capital of fashion and design. Home to the national stock exchange, it’s a financial hub also known for its high-end restaurants and shops. The Gothic Duomo di Milano cathedral and the Santa Maria delle Grazie convent, housing Leonardo da Vinci’s mural “The Last Supper,” testify to centuries of art and culture.

Here you will find useful info to organize your visit to the city, and see here to answer the following questions: Which is the fastest way to get to Milano? How to rent a bike from the public sharing service? When is the last metro departure?

IPDPS 2025 Where To Stay

The conference will be held at Politecnico di Milano where we will be meeting in state-of-the-art facilities and enjoying all the resources of a modern university. The conference starts on Tuesday 3 June and continues through Saturday 7 June. Workshops and tutorials will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday and main conference events will be held the last three days. Return here after February 15th to see the accommodations/hotel page detailing the options that have been organized by our hosts.

Visa Letters

Visa invitation letters will only be issued to attendees who have paid their registration fees in full and are eligible to travel to Italy. Authors of accepted papers may request the letter in advance of registration being available to attendees. Attendees will need to check locally (for their country of origin-citizenship) to determine the visa requirements for travel to Italy and whether they require an invitation letter from the conference.

Italy provides this user-friendly website that enables users to answer 4 basic questions in order to determine the requirements for a visa that apply to their circumstance. It is recommended that you list business as the purpose of your travel. The website lists the consulates for the country of your citizenship where you may apply for a visa. If you require a letter, describing the conference, your role in it, and the contact information for when you are there, complete the information requested in the Request for Visa Assistance form and email it to visa@ipdps.org.

Student Travel Assistance

A limited number of travel assistance grants will be available through the IPDPS sponsor, the IEEE Computer Society's Technical Committee on Parallel Processing (TCPP). Application details will be posted on the IPDPS Website in February. Note that all student authors must have registered to be eligible for support and must be a member of IEEE. All student travel grants are made in the form of reimbursement post-conference.
