Deadline for Travel Grant Applications: March 20, 2020
A limited number of travel assistance grants are available from the IPDPS sponsor, IEEE Computer Society Technical Committee on Parallel Processing (TCPP). Notice of awards will be made prior to the conference. The grants will be distributed post-conference in the form of reimbursements against actual travel and accommodations expenses submitted by the student. Expenses that are not eligible for reimbursement include registration, taxi, and meals. The amount of the grants will be based in part on student travel requirements, quality of paper/poster, and on TCPP funds availability.
Awards will be based on merit, with priority given to students who would otherwise be unable to attend the conference and to graduate students presenting their own accepted work.
Notification of awards will be made on April 15, 2020.
To encourage participation in the Student Mentoring Program, PhD Forum participants (those who have a poster accepted for presentation) who are IEEE (or ACM) members are eligible for travel grants and discounted registration fees. (Discounted registration fee for PhD Forum does not apply to students who are the sole registered author of a paper being presented in the main conference or workshops.)
All students applying for Travel Support are automatically enrolled in the Student Mentoring Program, and are expected to participate in program activities, including bringing a poster suitable for use in the PhD Forum.
TO QUALIFY FOR A STUDENT TRAVEL ASSISTANCE GRANT, A RECIPIENT MUST BE:
- author of an accepted conference or workshop paper or have a poster in the PhD Forum and be registered for the conference,
- Student Member of IEEE Computer Society (or ACM) at the time he/she submits an application, and
- full-time student regularly registered toward a degree in computer science, engineering or related field at a university.
TO APPLY FOR A GRANT:
Complete the information requested in the online form available here. Use the Submit button at the bottom of the form to send your application to the TCPP travel grant committee. Note the following:
- Applications are due by March 20, 2020.

NSF FUNDING FOR US-BASED STUDENTS
Funds for travel support have been provided by the US National Science Foundation (NSF). This funding is available only for full time students attending US colleges and universities. In keeping with policies of inclusivity and diversity, students from underrepresented groups and diverse institutions are particularly encouraged to apply. Although student authors may be given priority for travel awards, this is not a requirement.
