VISA LETTERS
Visa invitation letters will only be issued to attendees who have paid their registration fees in full and are eligible to travel to Brazil. Conference participants may be required to obtain a visa to enter Brazil depending on their nationality. Please check/verify your visa requirements, since airlines strictly monitor your status at the time of boarding. International visitors who are citizens of most EU and Latin-American countries are exempt from requiring a visa and may travel to Brazil with just a valid passport.
Nationals from Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Columbia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru Uruguay, and Venezuela may also enter with their national identity card. A new system for granting electronic visas is available for nationals of Australia, Canada, Japan and the United States. They need to apply at the VFS Global website (the company which provides the service). All others should check here to determine visa requirements for their country of citizenship and/or here for full information on requirements of the Brazilian government. If you require a letter to obtain a visa, when you have completed your registration and paid your fees, complete the information in the Invitation Letter request form here.
STUDENT TRAVEL ASSISTANCE
A limited number of travel assistance grants will be available through the IPDPS sponsor, the IEEE Computer Society's Technical Committee on Parallel Processing (TCPP). In addition, funds for travel support to full time students attending US colleges and universities will be available through a grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF). Note that all student authors must have registered to be eligible for support and must be a member of IEEE. All student travel grants are made in the form of reimbursement post-conference.
