The IPDPS PhD Forum focuses on current graduate students working toward a PhD in broadly defined areas related to parallel and distributed processing. Twenty-one students who submitted proposals for the IPDPS 2010 event have been selected to display a poster describing their dissertation research. The posters will go on display at 12 Noon on Tuesday, 20 April in the conference foyer and will be available for viewing until 6:00 PM on Wednesday, at which time all of the students presenters will be on hand to describe their work to conference attendees and answer questions regarding their research.
The PhD Forum participants may publish their preliminary results in a short paper, which will be published with the proceedings of the IPDPS Workshops and available through the IEEE Computer Society Digital Library. The PhD Forum offers students the opportunity to receive expert feedback on their research and to make contacts for entering the job market. At the same time, the IPDPS conference attendees, including representatives from industry and academia, are able to preview upcoming developments in parallel and distributed processing and related technologies.
